Holiday Homework
Dear 2B,
Yippee! The holidays have finally arrived. Do have fun and have a well-deserved break. In addition to this, please do revise your work as we will begin lessons in Term 3. To keep all of you on your toes I have assigned some simple assignments for you to complete during your term break.

- Read at least 10 books. Expose yourself to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. Complete only 1 Book Review in your Journal Book. Our School Library will be open every Wednesdays ( 28/5, 4/6, 11/6 & 18/6 ) from 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Mini Sports Day and Show and Tell

I will be updating our blog with photos of these 2 events soon. All of you did a great job last Friday during the Sports Meet. You have cheered and not jeered at your team. You have shown perseverence and compassion during the relays. Well done and i'm proud of you. So sorry that I was not able to join you guys and gals during the Prize Presentation as I had to rush off to my daughters' school to attend the Meet the Parent's session.

Weeks 9 and 10....
Dear All,
Our exams are finally over......all the papers have been returned. Parents, pls take a look and sign them. All papers should be filed in their respective files. For English, the ORAL and COMPOSITION marks will not be revealed to the pupils and parents. Report bks will be issued in Week 10.
We will be starting with the 2B English and Maths Books over the next two weeks. So I appeal to the pupils to bring back their : -

CIP - Selling Tickets for the Handicapped Association
Dear 2B and parents,
Today the class was issued 5 tickets each @ $2 per ticket. The pupils will be helping out to sell these tickets by the Handicapped Association. This is part of their CIP - Community Involvement Programme...
They have time till the end of the June holidays to sell these tickets. Pls collate the money. Each child will be required to return the booklets with the contributer's names and details and $10 after they have sold the booklets.
Keep the booklets safely and do not lose them.
Thank you for your support!!

I am really worried. Many of you are falling sick during your exams........
Today - Elin, Kewei & Yuyun are absent....
Just to inform you that if you have missed a paper on the exam day, you are STILL allowed to do the paper the next day or the day after. The last day for a make-up paper will be on the 9th of May 2008 for EDP's SA1.
Please produce your MC upon your arrival to school after your absence.
Do take care of yourselves.

Today I have returned you both the English and Maths Mock papers......A handful of you have done well...some of you are getting there while a few of you really need to work extra hard. Use the coming holiday to polish up your composition skills.
Three cheers to Cheryl Kho and Yunjing ( scored 100/100 ) who scored the highest marks for English and Mathematics respectively. HIP HIP HURRAY!!!!

Some Remarks on SA1 Composition
Dear 2B,
Here are some pointers you can refer to when revising for your COMPOSITION....

- Write in the Past Tense.
- Try to use all helping words given in the right context.
- Refrain from including too many dialogues.
- Ensure there are at least 3 paragraphs - Do Not forget to have a 2-finger spacing when you start a paragraph.
- Write in a narrative form - it must be story-like....DON'T merely describe the pictures.
- Expand the content.....include a nice beginning...develop the story well...end well too.
- Keep sentences short to minimise too many grammatical or spelling errors.
- Please make use of the right punctuation....end sentences with a full-stop. Include commas exclamation and question marks where necessary
- Write neatly PLEASE...
- Once your composition is completed...read the text and correct any errors spotted by you.

What Done(Week 7) & What's Up(Week 8)

It's been a long, tiring but fruitful week! We have completed our English and Maths Textbooks and workbook. We have also completed 3 compositions, the Maths process skills books, the Word bank book (Units 1-8). We have also made sure that all our filing for EL/Math are up to date and corrections have been done. Well Done, 2B!!
I have returned you all the EL & MATH Wbks and your Word bank for revision at home.
Coming up next week..............................

We will have completed our 1A TBs & WBs for both EL & Maths.....by the end of this week.
We have started revising for the papers......as well.
Do expect revision worksheets next week...Books and files will be returned next week.
As for compositions, 2B will be fully prepared...we would have done at least 4 compositions this term and completed writng exercises in their jotter books and in the computer labs..
So take a good rest this weekend.....REVISE REVISE REVISE.....you may probably need chicken/fish essence.........bcz......come next week is WORK WORK and more WORK!!!!

My Trip to the Land Transport Gallery
We went to Land Transport Gallery last Tuesday. It was very far away from my school and my house. It was fun there because we learnt about the public and private transport. We also played at the challenge theatre there. We pressed the red or the green button to answer the questions. The woman gave us sweets. It was delicious and tasty too. I was very happy and excited. I enjoyed myself. I wish I can visit the place again.

I was very happy to see many things.After that we have all come out inside.Mrs FERNANDEZ told us to go to the toilet. The toilet is very nice.WE have all went inside the bus .Me and my friends are happy.

They had a very special chair. It was the F1 chair, they even have two buttons, one is red and the other one is green. They even gave us questions on the big screen and they told us to see what will happen if that was built. I was glad I came for this trip.

Last Tuesday, my Classmates and I went to the LTA.
We took half an hour to reach there by school bus.
Our tour guide for the day was Ms Tay. She brought us to the first station. When we entered the first station, there were statues and old tranports like trishaws and carriages. We could even sit on it and get a feel of it.
When we were about to leave ,we signed in our names and for coming Ms Tay gave us all a sweet. “ Goodbye, Ms Tay” we said.

Long ago there was a bad talking dragon .One day he found a house. He knocked on the door. The children opened the door. Then they were shocked to see the fierce dragon. They ran outside and saw a volcano. The bad dragon fell in and that was the end of the cruel dragon.

How I spent my Chinese New Year holidays
I feel happy because it is Chinese New Year. I am happy because I never went to school. I went to my big grandmother’s house at Whampoa, and I had a dinner with my big family. My grandmother’s dining room is very nice. After dinner I played with my cousin sisters in the living room. First day of Chinese New Year all the children get red packets from our parents.
